Occupational Health, Safety & Welfare Policy

Lochwynd Limited carries out civil, mechanical and electrical engineering works relating to highways, roads and street-works construction infrastructure and traffic management in accordance with National Highway Sector Schemes and NICEIC standards.

Lochwynd is committed to the provision of safe and healthy working conditions for the prevention of work-related injury and ill health that is appropriate to its purpose, size and organisational context and to the specific nature of its OH&S risks and OH&S opportunities. Furthermore, will maintain a Safety Management System to comply with all applicable legal requirements, meet or exceed the requirements of ISO45001, The Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 such that in so far as is reasonably practicable, we can ensure the health and safety of our own employees, our Clients, contractors, and the general public.

 

Lochwynd is committed to providing a framework for the setting of the organisations OH&S objectives.

 

Lochwynd is committed to ensuring that it complies with all applicable legal requirements and other requirements relevant to its activities.

 

Lochwynd is committed to eliminate hazards and reduce OH&S risk to our employees, contractors and others who may be affected by our activities. In doing so, Lochwynd will follow the stated hierarchy of controls

• Eliminate the hazard.

• Substitute with less hazardous processes, operations, materials or equipment.

• Use engineering controls and reorganisation of work.

• Use administrative controls, including training.

• Use adequate personal protective equipment.

Directors, management and supervisory staff have the responsibility for implementing this Policy throughout the Company and must ensure that Health and Safety considerations are always given priority in planning and day-to-day supervision and delivery of works. All employees are expected to co-operate with the Company in carrying out this Policy and must ensure that their work, so far as is reasonably practicable, is carried out without risk to themselves or others.

Lochwynd is committed to the continual improvement of the OH&S management system and the provision of available resources to meet the requirements of the OH&S management system.

 

Lochwynd is committed to the consultation and participation of its workforce and worker`s representatives, contractors, sub-contractors and others who may be involved in or affected by our activities.

 

This policy will be reviewed periodically and revised as necessary.

 

This STATEMENT of COMPANY POLICY will be displayed prominently at all workplaces and will be made available to all interested parties. The organisation and arrangements for implementing the Policy will also be available at Head Office for reference by any employee as required.
